Alternative Training Solutions for the Heath Industry Using E-Learning Tools

What is the project about?

This project is about raising awareness and understanding of the use of current and emerging e-learning tools for the delivery of training to the health industry and provides professional development of teachers and educators in this sector in relation to the same.

Team members include teachers and health industry educators. We will be providing you with the information, understanding and exposure to support the adoption and use of e-learning tools in your training delivery and education programs.

In the future this project would provide a pathway for the inclusion of e-learning tools and options into the ongoing delivery of training to the health industry.

The Project Team

Surveys

Preworkshop Survey

Literature Review

Is E-learning Healthy? The LiteratureReview explores e-learning Strategies used to date in the Health Industry and the related outcomes.

Communication Tools for the Project

Wiki - Collaboration Reporting

We will use the wiki as a central storage point for information. The wiki will evolve and be developed by all team members and will follow our learning. I have created a page for each team member so that you can note down any links that you make like to add. We have also created a page called E-Guidelines where we can all post comments under different health areas. All the project research information will be stored on the Wiki. There is also a page link for each of the e-tools we will be researching and using for the project on the side bar.

Blogging - Online Journals

Each team member will create their own Blog. I will then create links to all the blogs in the wiki. All the information about Blogs is found on the page Blogging. It would be good if we could each post at least once a week to let everyone know about our learning journey during the project.

Bridgit - Web Conferencing

Bridgit is used by DET as an online Web Conferencing tool. All you need is to have a conference area set up and then login. Bridgit will enable sharing of each other's desktops and we will communicate with voice over IP technology using a microphone headset. Our E-learning on the Run Workshops will use this technology.

YackPack - Audio Messaging Online

YackPack is an audio messaging tool that can be used to record audio messages rather than text based messages like email. The product is new and is a Beta (or trial) version.
